The Instructional Liaison for Technical and Professional Studies (TPS) Division ensures that the teaching and learning mission of Pikes Peak State College is fulfilled by using resources and professional advising knowledge to guide students through education and career goal identification and completion. The TPS Liaison serves as the primary conduit of information to and from the TPS Division and supports the faculty and staff within the division as the primary student services and advising contact. The TPS Liaison will manage and coordinate an assigned student caseload and collaborate with relevant departmental personnel to ensure appropriate educational planning to meet academic and career goals. This position provides direction, supervision, and leadership directly to the TPS Advising team. All responsibilities are in support of student success as outlined in Pikes Peak State College’s Strategic Plan.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Two years of professional level experience providing academic advising or other student support services in a post-secondary setting.
- Experience with higher education technology platforms and ability to work with evolving technology to meet student and staff needs.
Professional level experience is defined by the Colorado Division of Human Resources: A position that involves the exercise of discretion, analytical skill, judgment, personal accountability, and responsibility for creating, developing, integrating, applying, or sharing an organized body of knowledge. Colorado revised statute (C.R.S. 24-50-135(1) allows colleges to exempt positions from the State Personnel Classified System that are determined to be professional level work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in post-secondary student affairs and higher education, post-secondary leadership, organizational management, curriculum and instruction, psychology, student personnel administration, or other closely related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Demonstrated ability to work with underrepresented student populations with efforts to close the achievement gap.
- Experience providing excellent customer service in an education or business setting.
- Three years of experience in post-secondary academic advising working with students on coursework selection and program completion.
- Experience teaching or training diverse audiences with different learning preferences.
- Understanding of the challenges community college students face and related retention strategies.
- Management experience with direct supervision responsibilities.
Salary range is $50,000.00 to $52,650.00 annual gross. For full consideration, all application materials must be received by 4:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024. Applications accepted until position is filled.
