• We are looking for a Senior Resource to join our JLL Technologies in Chicago, USA.  This role requires partnering with the broader JLL Technology team at the country, regional and global level by utilizing in-depth knowledge of server, infrastructure and technology experience.
• This role requires off-hours and weekend availability when on-call. This role will be critical in load balancing on existing RED Server.  This candidate will need to assess and evaluate the current workload on our existing server in order to configure, maintain the existing SQL Server instance (at multiple layers like SQL, OS) and if needed scale out the server in order to better serve our end users.

Responsibilities

• General Database administration activities
• Analyze current SQL server database/server workload from perspective of CPU usage, memory, disk, configurations.
• Review, assess, approve/enhance configuration of virtual and OS layer parameters related to the database.
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
• Provide suggestions for solutions and take decisions for server upkeep.
• Analyze, solve and correct issues in real time.
• Assist developers/end users with query/process tuning.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours and during weekend maintenance window.
• Able to work with remotely located resources, onshore and offshore on a day-to-day basis.
• Identifying and implement industry best practices. Ensure data integrity of all systems.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Computer Science
• 10+ years of database administration experience.
• 6+ years of deep technical experience in database environments specializing in SQL Server
• 6+ years of database administration production support
• Candidates must be self-motivated and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and accountable person
• Self-motivated team player who is flexible and adapts in quickly changing environment.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Database Administrator with relevant experience in enterprise-class databases and specifically SQL server.  Experience in all aspects of database administration and management.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2019 tools and technologies
• Experience supporting enterprise databases within VMware.
• Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Experience with backups, restores, recovery models and performance tuning and optimization with SQL Server
• Proficiency in windows server 2019
• Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills. 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills
