Capital Sales Representative

As a Life Sciences Sales Representative at STERIS, you will drive revenue for Capital products to the Life Sciences industry. This includes pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, research and laboratory operations, and medical device manufacturers within the assigned sales territory. You will visit Customer sites, attend trade shows, and stay current in the industry through networking, meetings, and reading related industry information. You will be responsible for providing high Customer satisfaction, establishing multi-level relationships with Customers, and utilizing company provided sales resources. You are tasked with maximizing sales outcomes while providing best solutions to the Customer.
This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our Customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of one of the following state: California (Northern preferred), Washington, Oregon, Nevada.
What you will do as a Sales Representative
- Achieve assigned financial metrics through sales of STERIS capital products while managing time, travel and investments in the territory.
- Identifies and proactively seeks qualified sales opportunities with new and existing Customers in targeted industries.
- Effectively interacts with Customers to provide solutions with superior products.
- Work closely with STERIS Customer Operations, Applications Management and Field Service teams to ensure equipment is quoted, delivered, installed and demonstrated on schedule.
- Communicate Customer concerns, industry trends and competitive activity across STERIS business units and functions.
- Maintain an accurate monthly sales forecast including data supporting projections.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum two years’ experience selling capital equipment
- Experienced in consultative selling of technical products
- Knowledge of cGMP, GLP and other regulated industries
- Must maintain valid driver's license and the ability to travel globally
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
- Experience with scientific capital sales preferred
- Business acumen – results oriented with the skills to meet Customer goals
- Technical knowledge – uses technical knowledge to provide client-focused problem solving
- Communication – effective listening, communication, persuasion and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CRM applications

The base salary for this opportunity is $80,000. This position is eligible for incentive compensation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
