Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Team as a Maintenance Planner. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Planning and Scheduling Superintendent at the Sweeny, Clemens & Old Ocean (SCO) Complex located in Sweeny, TX.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to develop, communicate, plan and create planned working packages according to priorities set by Operations.  This role will work directly with the production maintenance coordinator (PMC), and maintenance supervisors.  The successful candidate will work closely with operations and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an advocate for safe work and housekeeping practices, will possess basic computer skills, will be a self-starter/self-motivator and capable of working and communicating effectively with others.  Although not all inclusive, the following are considered key job responsibilities:

 

Notification Management

  • Review new approved notifications daily set by priorities from the PMC.
  • Group any like notifications on a single piece of equipment as a single work order to optimize utilization of resources.
  • Understand scope through notification text, field walk, and communication with operations or notification originator.
  • Review notification backlog with operations on a bi-weekly basis to help eliminate duplicates, planning hold points and receive planning priorities.

Backlog Management

  • Review responsible work center backlog for accuracy from previous week
  • Monitor and help maintain SAP data to ensure accuracy.
  • Review backlog of NEWO work orders with PMC on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Field visit, scope job, seek craft/support services input as necessary.
  • Plan job steps in logical sequence.
  • Utilize task lists and update as needed with the help from the maintenance engineers.
  • Make optimal logic ties between operations.
  • Clearly show required crafts and durations
  • Clearly show special instructions and required documentation in planning package.
  • Enter all material requisitions per the piping/equipment specification, Enter service requisitions.
  • Include specialty tools and rental equipment as needed.
  • Attend daily schedule update reviews and provide feedback where needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of heavy craft experience in a chemical/refining environment OR a minimum of a high school diploma with a minimum of three years heavy craft planning and scheduling experience in a ch
