Job Description

AECOM’s is seeking a dynamic Senior Right of Way Agent to work part time with our growing team of professional agents in the region. In this role you will be working out of the NCDOT’s Division 11 office in N. Wilkesboro, NC supporting the in-house team. This supervisory position includes directing daily goals and responsibilities of the Division and will include being responsible for more complex or specialized projects. Please note - This part time role can vary 20-30 hours per week and from time to time may require working outside normal hours, and/or weekends.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

  • Review and approve right of way claim reports for members of staff. In addition will review, approve, and submit settlement and condemnation final reports as needed.
  • Supervise and provide technical assistance to staff regarding negotiations, relocation, and property management including I/A/D.
  • Will ensure appraisal requests, final reports, closings and relocation payment requests are properly checked and correct before final submission for approval from our Central Raleigh office.
  • Will perform Right of Way acquisition scheduling, controlling date and Right of Way Certification.
  • Prepare and research legal instruments and public records. (KSA)
  • Maintain electronic files for archiving Right of Way records. (KSA)
  • Assist with complex/complicated claims (negotiations/relocation) of other agents (internal/consultant).
  • Assist with abstracts for upcoming projects.
  • Assist with training of new agents.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS plus 4 years or more of relevant experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • North Carolina Real Estate license.
  • Direct NCDOT Right of Way Experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license and as a condition of employment, pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Outlook, SAP and DOT File Transfer Program (FTS)
  • Ability to read and understand transportation plans.
