Position Description/Overview:

The Staff Data Engineer leads our Unified Data Platform backend enablement using Azure, Azure Databricks, and On Premises SQL Server extracting data from our source systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, architect, develop and test software systems that simulate business processes and can be used to optimize and increase their efficiency, using various computer languages Windows based platforms.
  • Gather customer requirements and create high-level component level architecture and confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, oversee specific input, and output requirements.
  • Format reports, write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
  • Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
  • Serve as key member in evolving and maturing our enterprise data strategy and capabilities at Press Ganey.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of data warehousing development and design experience including 3 years' experience with analytical solutions in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2; 3 years’ experience developing complex ETL processes (SSIS) which includes 1 year experience with Azure Data Bricks, Python, C#; and 1 year of experience leading a development team. Employer will also accept a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field and 5 years of data warehousing development and design experience including 5 years' experience with analytical solutions in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2; 5 years’ experience developing complex ETL processes (SSIS) which includes 1 year experience with Azure Data Bricks, Python, C#; and 1 year of experience leading a development team.
