Bell Labs Internship on Zero Knowledge Proofs for big data computations (PhD)

<p>Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) have become a fundamental building block for creating scalable and privacy-preserving decentralized applications. ZKPs enable verifiable computing, but the powerful math behind ZKPs is both compute and memory intensive. Conventional application of standard Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proving techniques for handling gigabytes of data is currently deemed impractical.</p> <p>In this project, you will explore producing ZK proofs of big data computations using recent Folding schemes for map–reduce like computations on big data. </p> <p>In particular, you will adapt the implementations of the latest parallel folding schemes &amp; proof carrying data, to be applied to map-reduce style computations, and measure their performance and limitations.</p> <p><strong>Duration: </strong>flexible, to be agreed (typically 3-4 months), starting time is flexible</p> <p><strong>Location: </strong>Stuttgart (Germany)</p> <ul> <li>You will be expected to get up to speed with a variety of ZKP proof systems and Folding Schemes</li> <li>You will bring together multiple open-source projects into a working ZKP system for ZK proving of computations on Big Data.</li> <li>You will implement a working standalone prototype and integrate it into existing internal projects.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Student enrolled in  <u>Ph.D. Computer Science/Engineering</u>.</li> <li>Good <u>system building </u>skills<u>.</u></li> <li>Interest in, or experience with, ZKP techniques and frameworks</li> <li>Language skills: English</li> </ul> <p></p> <p>Come create the technology that helps the world act together<br/> <br/> Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks.
