The Role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Patient Safety contributes to the successful positioning of the Quality and Patient Safety Service through provision of high quality, accountable and measurable healthcare both internally and externally by supporting the clinical areas to operate effective clinical services in accordance with the national safety and quality standards and the Department of Health Quality and Safety objectives.
- Actively participate in Quality and Patient Safety Processes including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and related training, ensuring that quality and safety improvement processes are in place and acted upon.
- Provide clinical advice, leadership, support and direction in the development and implementation of systems supporting effective quality care through the management of patient feedback, risk management, measurements of performance and outcomes, appropriate benchmarking, mentoring and advice on clinical practice issues.
- Coordinate, and facilitate as necessary, complaints and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and serious safety event investigations. Monitor and report on investigation progress outcomes and implementation of recommendations.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 19 September 2025.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013
Allowances:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
