Description

 

This is a non-benefitted per diem/casual position at the Pediatric Plus Hours Clinic. The schedule requires a minimum of 16 hours per pay period (every two weeks). Shifts may be worked Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday or Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This is a dual role with both front office MA and back office MA responsibilities.

What you'll do: 

  • This position works in the Pediatrics Plus Hours Clinic
  • Administering vaccines to infants through adolescents
  • Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
  • Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
  • Insurance verifications

 

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
