Position Overview:
The Safety Lead supports Freedom Boat Club (FBC) by executing safety programs, coaching managers, and strengthening safety culture at the operational level. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role ensures safety initiatives are executed consistently across club locations and that managers are equipped to lead safety within their teams. The Safety Lead is also responsible for leading safety initiatives and process improvement projects, as well as managing the safety performance metrics dashboard using advanced Excel skills to track, analyze, and report results. The role requires travel up to 25% of the time to Freedom Boat Club locations. Role will be remote; with regional concentration in Tampa or Southwest Florida

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Development & Culture Building
- Coach and develop managers to strengthen their ability to lead safety.
- Promote a culture that balances accountability with encouragement and recognition.
- Lead training sessions, campaigns, and communications that reinforce safe practices.
Program Execution & Support
- Implement FBC safety programs, policies, and initiatives across club operations.
- Support managers in applying safety standards and embedding safe practices into daily operations.
- Serve as the primary resource to staff and managers for questions, guidance, and follow-up on safety expectations.
Project Leadership
- Develop and manage safety projects of limited scope (e.g., training refreshes, pilot programs, or localized process improvements).
- Track timelines, deliverables, and results, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure completion.
- Measure project outcomes and recommend improvements for broader use.
Safety Metrics & Reporting
- Manage and improve FBC’s safety performance metrics dashboard to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Use advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, Power Query, formulas, conditional formatting, etc.) to analyze performance and identify trends.
- Provide clear reporting and actionable insights to managers and leadership.
Risk Identification & Response
- Partner with managers to identify hazards, support root cause analyses, and develop corrective actions.
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response activities, including readiness for severe weather or non-routine tasks.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive safety leadership experience OR 2–4 years of demonstrated leadership within Freedom Boat Club with a proven track record of influencing safety culture and operational outcomes.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, with ability to manage, analyze, and present data.
- Experience leading projects from planning through execution.
- Strong coaching, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Marina or marine services experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support Freedom Boat Club locations.
