Mechanical Procurement Lead

Indianapolis/Lebanon, IN (Hybrid – onsite and remote weekly)

Contract (12-month contract with potential for renewal)

Reports To: Associate Director – Capital Procurement

Position Overview

This role supports a large, active capital project by leading procurement activities for mechanical scopes, equipment, and services. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical systems knowledge and hands-on experience supporting procurement on complex industrial or life-sciences projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead procurement efforts for mechanical packages including piping, HVAC, process equipment, and related systems

• Support sourcing strategy development, vendor prequalification, bid evaluations, and award recommendations

• Work closely with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to align procurement timing with project schedules

• Manage supplier communications, commercial clarifications, and change impacts

• Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance

• Support contract administration activities through the life of the project

• Participate in onsite coordination meetings as required

Qualifications

• Strong background in mechanical systems on industrial or capital construction projects

• Proven procurement or sourcing experience supporting large projects

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

• Experience working with EPCs, OEMs, and specialty contractors

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, owner-side project environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills
