Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Project Monitor!

The PM will support the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP), Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program. The EECBG program provides funding to local governments, states, territories, and Tribes to implement strategies that reduce fossil fuel emissions, reduce total energy use, and improve energy efficiency across the transportation, building, and other sectors.

The Project Monitor I will support the EECBG federal teams by providing technical expertise and execution across the full grant lifecycle, along with other programmatic support.

  • Provide project monitoring support across the full grant lifecycle, including application and plan review and post-award monitoring.
  • Provide both desktop and on-site monitoring support.
  • Perform technical evaluations of recipient submissions, identifying corrective actions and recommending refined project requirements.
  • Track milestones, budgets, and technical targets against approved recipient plans; notify Project Officers of discrepancies.
  • Review recipient performance and financial reports for compliance with applicable statutes, program guidance, and award terms.
  • Support award closeout, including quality assurance review of closeout documentation in accordance with program procedures.
  • Maintain official file documentation in DOE systems.

In this exciting career opportunity, you will have:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years.
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in engineering, business administration, environmental sciences, or a related discipline. Four (4) years of relevant education/experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with the Federal Government, preferably with DOE.
  • Experience with financial assistance documentation disciplines and financial tracking systems.
  • Experience in documentation disciplines, including technical writing, editing, layout, document development and production, and desktop publishing.
  • Basic knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other economic disciplines, and the ability to utilize them in determining solutions.
  • Experience applying operational research principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, or evaluate systems.

Budgeted Compensation

$61,100 - $65,000

DOT Requirements

If applicable, meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Compensation Range

$61,100.00 - $78,000.00
