Job Description Summary

Repair and adjust production equipment to produce parts which conform to quality specifications, at specified output rates. Troubleshoot equipment including dismantling and reassembling of parts. Perform changeovers, line clearance and cleaning. Work as one of a team for maximum effectiveness. Responsible for product inspection, operating equipment, raw material/finished goods movement and cleaning/sanitizing. This position supports other operations in Rubber Parts as required by Leadership. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Set-up machines per established procedures, to manufacture product which conforms to quality specifications, at the rated output.
2. Repair, adjust and trouble-shoot machinery including dismantling, replacement of parts, and reassembling. Work with technical support if necessary.
3. Instruct associates on proper job methods and follow-up to be certain the instructions are understood and followed.
4. Communicate on a daily basis through written/oral methods with prior and post shift set-up operators and management regarding technical and other pertinent issues.
5. Assist in preventive maintenance for equipment.
6. Keep equipment supplied with components and material necessary to sustain continuous operation, maintain equipment logs.
7. Continually monitor operations for product quality and equipment performance, including final QC lot acceptance rate.
8. Operate equipment and process functions, product inspections, perform process tests and record accurate inspection data as required.
9. Assist on all product changeovers, machine lubrications, sanitization and cleaning.
10. Assist technical staff on machine modifications/testing, equipment validations.
11. Responsible to contribute to the continuous improvement of the process
12. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
