About the role

Department Assistant for the Welcome Baby Program at the Providence Holy Cross Medical Center campus.  This is a part-time position that will work during the Monday-Friday work week (no weekends) and the schedule has some flexibility.

Provides program assistance and support including ordering of supplies, tracking supplies and donations and coordination of home visit incentives. Position is responsible for assisting Welcome Baby (WB) staff.

The Welcome Baby Program Staff will visit families at that critical first home visit after discharge from the hospital. The Welcome Baby Staff will support families, conduct maternal and newborn clinical assessments and provide parent education in the areas of postnatal care, breastfeeding, parent-infant attachment, home safety and other maternal and child health related topics.  They will also help identify client strengths, needs, barriers, and risks and provide community resources for those needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing computer databases /spreadsheets and graphics (Microsoft Office products).
  • Experienced with a variety of office equipment (e.g. computer, copier, FAX).
  • California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college.
  • Clerical experience.
  • Experience with Access and Publisher.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
