Job Responsibilities

Summary of the Position: 

Perform production planning and scheduling activities for The Harris Products Group Gainesville facility. Develop and publish accurate and efficient two-week finite production schedules for assigned production lines. Determine and manage optimal finished goods inventory levels to achieve service goals. Submit timely production orders to production cells to maximize asset utilization and labor and ensure delivery of produced products. Achieve desired inventory and customer service levels in a hybrid MTO and MTS manufacturing planning environment.

• Identify, establish, and maintain inventory planning parameters
• Generate and maintain accurate production orders within ERP
• Plan efficient production plans to maximize utilization of assets and labor
• Ensure inventory availability to customer demand
• Generate cost savings ideas and completion of projects

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Work closely with internal customers, which includes operations, materials planning, customer service, quality, engineering, and sales

• Determine and manage replenishment strategies in ERP system
• Prepare and issue production orders in a timely manner to production cells
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with operations leadership
• Identify production bottlenecks and recommend solutions to resolve
• Prioritize scheduling of production to meet business objectives
• Communicate with external production service providers to maintain adequate flow of parts required for production
• Track and communicate supply availability and lead times to internal stakeholders
• Analyze inventory and supply issues for root causes and take corrective actions to resolve
• Plan new product and pilot runs on assigned production assets, coordinate with operations, engineering, quality, and master data
• Plan and execute product end of life drawdown of production and inventory to minimize E&O risk
• Maintain effective oversight and disposition of Excess and Obsolescence (E&O) inventory
• Ensure accurate planning master data in ERP system to drive effective use of systems and tools for planning
• Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for cost, process and inventory performance improvements
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:                                               

 

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations or similar degree with five to seven years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Master Scheduling, Supply Planning, and/or Inventory Management experience, APICS Certification, Six Sigma or Lean implementation experience.
