Panelmatic is seeking a highly technical, commercially driven Inside Sales Lead / Technical Sales Support professional to support the company’s continued expansion across the Utility, Renewable Energy, and Data Center markets. This role focuses on prefabricated modular electrical solutions, including E-Houses, power distribution centers (PDCs), control buildings, switchgear, and integrated power systems.
This position serves as a critical bridge between customers, sales, estimating, engineering, and operations—supporting opportunities from early project qualification through quotation, order entry, and project handoff. The role ensures technical compliance with NEC, UL/ANSI, IEEE, IBC/state building codes, and evolving customer, utility, and data center standards.
This role is ideal for a technically fluent professional (electrical, mechanical, or structural) who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing commercial environment and understands how to translate complex technical scope into buildable, compliant, and competitive proposals.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary inside technical sales resource for modular electrical systems, including electrical rooms, control buildings, switchgear, and integrated power solutions.
- Translate customer specifications, RFPs, and technical documents into compliant, competitive commercial proposals.
- Support early-stage opportunity development through technical feasibility, compliance assessment, and value engineering.
- Partner with outside sales on strategic accounts, complex bids, and major pursuits, representing Panelmatic’s technical and manufacturing capabilities in customer discussions.
- Develop accurate, competitive quotations for modular and engineered-to-order electrical systems.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to define scope, BOMs, pricing, lead times, and risk.
- Ensure proposals clearly document assumptions, exclusions, and compliance requirements, and meet commercial and technical standards.
- Support standardized, scalable costing and proposal frameworks.
- Qualify opportunities based on technical feasibility, delivery capacity, commercial fit, and compliance complexity.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, bid tracking, and internal coordination for quotations and orders.
- Support strategic pursuits through capture planning and sales enablement.
- Partner with engineering, estimating, project management, procurement, and operations to ensure a smooth transition from sale to execution.
- Participate in handoff meetings to confirm scope clarity, technical alignment, and delivery readiness.
- Drive improvements in quote standardization, bid cycle time, and rework reduction.
- Provide insight on market trends, pricing pressures, and competitive activity.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable electrical, building, and industry standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years in technical sales support, estimating, proposal engineering, application engineering, or design roles supporting one or more of the following:
- Utility or substation control buildings
- Modular E-Houses or power shelters
- Data center power distribution systems
- Switchgear, switchboards, and LV/MV equipment integration
- Prefabricated or engineered-to-order electrical systems
- Direct experience supporting quotations and estimating for engineered products is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of NEC and electrical installation/clearance requirements
- Familiarity with UL and ANSI standards
- Familiarity with IBC and state building codes for modular enclosures
- Ability to interpret one-lines, GA drawings, load schedules, and equipment specifications
- Strong ability to build and validate BOMs, estimates
