As an overnight Acute Clinical Decentralized Staff Pharmacist, you will work in the inpatient pharmacy operations and focus on order verification, unit dose dispensing, non-sterile compounding procedures, and sterile IV preparation. The inpatient pharmacy dispenses approximately three million doses of medication annually and services a patient population with high acuity disease states by providing dedicated pharmacy services to our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Along with supporting the inpatient pharmacy, you will be responsible for providing decentralized bedside response to the highest acuity patients in the emergency department, intensive care units, and throughout the hospital in response to code blue, sepsis alerts, code strokes, and other emergency response needs. You will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with outstanding pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, as well as very dedicated physicians, nurses, and other ancillary team members. This is a full-time, night shift position working from 9:00pm-8:00am, Wednesday-Tuesday, with a 7-day on 7-day off rotation. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating workflow and approving medications prior to being dispensed. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served.  Must assess data reflective of the patient’s status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements and provide pharmaceutical care based on those needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.
