THE JOB:

It is the primary responsibility of the Manager to support the Director in planning and organizing resources to perform routine and scheduled functions as well as to respond to business unit questions. The Manager supports the Director in ensuring the team is effectively trained in their assigned processes, work products are appropriately reviewed, and communication on changes, issues or status are appropriately distributed to affected parties. The Manager models the core values of the department in their dealings with others and develops and implements practices that ensure the satisfaction, recognition and engagement of their team members. The Manager works to ensure processes are operating effectively and efficiently, implementing best practices and improvements in a standardized way across all finance related functions. The position supports finance and accounting activities for the company, and will also support continuous improvement initiatives and events.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Possesses knowledge of Shared Services and orients principles into departmental processes and procedures.

  • Evaluate processes across multiple business units for standardization, recommend and integrate improvements.

  • Appraise new business or increased business volumes for optimum way to integrate into processes.

  • Advocates the LEAN Educated program and training amongst the team, implements continuous improvement ideas and encourages participation.

  • Understands the FSSC strategy in regard to continuous improvements, and aligns the team’s participation.

  • Advocate and recommend qualified processes for automation that support the department’s strategic direction on the use of technology (RPA, AI, etc.).

  • Participate in the build and development of technology (RPA, AI) to improve operations, processes, and procedures in Shared Services to support strategic direction.

  • Utilize change management skills to support organizational initiatives enhanced by process improvements, automation and digital innovation.

  • Participate and execute technology developments that supports the strategic direction of Shared Services.

  • Builds team to continually sustain a high-quality and high-performing team. Manage, develop and engage personnel in a way that motivates and encourages elevated level of performance while adapting to the demands of a large scale company.

  • Participates in the monitoring of financial controls and risk measurement to proactively resolve and mitigate financial issues.

  • Supports and aligns resources to meet service level agreements, performance metrics and KPIs. Assists in monitoring results to established targets.

  • Maintains an understanding of Finance concepts, methods, standards, principles, and technology, and makes sound decisions and recommendations based on that understanding.

  • Has a comprehensive understanding of Finance role, contributes to meeting business objectives, and partners with leaders to set strategic direction of MGM Resorts.

  • Guides and influences people, processes, and resources to support the best interests of the business. Builds trusting relationships with business leaders and partners.

  • Understands how the business works and the upstream and downstream activities that impact and are impacted by Finance.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience Supervisory experience - Preferred

  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience Gaming industry experience - Preferred

  • Experience guiding design and strategy for use of electronic system tools to improve process, mine data, extract and report data - Preferred
