Project Manager, GIS Change Management

About the role
The GIS Project Manager is responsible for implementing various phases within the enterprise GIS program replacing Orange and Rocklands' (O&R) current NRG Mapping System. This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation and adoption of the new GIS application. This includes developing the change management strategy, managing stakeholder engagement and communications, and training. In addition, they will track, manage, and support training effectiveness, change management adoption and other aspects of the project delivery.The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with departments across the O&R organization. Additionally, the Project Manager will work with the Systems Integrator, RAMTeCH, Schneider Electric, and internal stakeholders in the development and execution of the change management strategy.
Core Responsibilities
- Apply a structured methodology to support change management activities and integrate change management activities into the project plan.
- Work with the GIS project team to develop plans to address the changes to internal business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and organization structures.
- Work with internal stakeholders at O&R to support in implementing a communications plan that will enhance our stakeholder experience throughout the GIS Project.
- Work with GIS project team leads, and vendors to support the training plan that will include the necessary mechanisms to ensure user readiness.
- Support presentations to Company employees, including executives and all levels of management, as well as regulatory parties and external stakeholders.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Bachelor's Degree and Five to eight years of relevant work experience is required or
- Master's Degree and Three to five years of relevant work experience is acceptable.
- Five years of experience and a proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, required.
- Strong leadership skills, required.
- Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project), required.
- Experience in leading and facilitating meetings and workshops, required.
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, required.
- Works well independently and as part of a team, required.
- Prior experience with change management efforts or projects, required.
- Prior experience supervising staff, required.
- Prior experience with large projects, preferred.
- Experience in Project Management such as work planning, status reporting, issue/risk management, preferred.

- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
