Director of US Field Development

Providing essential services to field staff and volunteers. Offering this support frees field staff for direct ministry with kids, optimizes financial contributions, and ensures careful stewardship of the mission's assets (both tangible and intangible).

Essential Duties:

Field Development Services

• Work in collaboration and partnership with Group Senior Vice President & Divisional SVPs to create a vision and strategic initiative to grow our Relationship Centered Engagement model of local giving and sustainability efforts in each Division, Region, & Area.
• Build collaborative partnerships with other Mission Services departments and teams to provide the appropriate resources to execute on a sustainable US local donor development strategy.
• Serve and partner with SVP’s, Campaign Directors, and field leaders to provide local giving equipping, coaching, and consulting services to staff and volunteers at all levels.
• Promote a culture of abundance, generosity and stewardship by equipping every staff to build lasting relationships with existing and potential donors and supporters.
• Contribute industry best practices and design ideas to grow Young Life’s ability to process and track relationships and data related to local donor engagement practices.
• Oversee Field Development services offered to and focused on two Young Life divisions.
• Raise personal donor support as a role model and participant in the collaborative funding efforts of Field Development.

Supervision of US Field Development Team

• Lead and manage all Field Development team members in assigned area in their development as leaders to fulfill and execute on all requirements of their individual jobs as well as all team assignments.
• Equip each team member to collaborate with all local leaders and deliver all field development services in a culturally intelligent and effective manner.
• Build a culture where each team member serves as a guide to local staff and volunteers and has the appropriate training and tools to work with an extensive set of challenging scenarios that exist in the diversity of the geography.

Administration

• Communicate the relevant information for RCE and field financial health with all parties including field leadership, mission services teams, and other stakeholders.
• Be a key contributor to enhancing and updating all Field Development resources.
• Monitor and report on all Field Development activity and results regularly to provide the progress of specific initiatives and metrics in the assigned divisions, regions, and areas.
• Participate significantly in understanding, operating, and evaluating a wide range of technological systems and tools to remain relevant and practical in the implementation of RCE.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications Required for the Job:

• Extensive Young Life knowledge.
• Extensive Relationship Centered Engagement or equivalent fundraising knowledge & experience.
• Cultural Intelligence knowledge to support contextualized and equitable fundraising.
• Proven competency and effectiveness in delivering equipping, coaching, & consulting services.
• Proven competency with budgeting, tracking, finances and technology.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Able to carry out the duties of the position.
• Able to provide spiritual leadership.
• Able to effectively manage the operational and organizational aspects of a mission-wide office.
• Able to work effectively with all field staff and their supervisors.
• Able to work effectively as a team member within the Development team.

Job Specific Working Conditions:

The anticipated salary for this position can range from $71,397-$97,569.50 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
