MH Lead Underwriter

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for providing leadership, management, and accountability for the Community 3rd Party Originations (C3PO) group in addition to underwriting responsibilities.        

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Underwriting:
  • Monitor incoming applications for the department and present reports as needed to the leadership team
  • Review applications, clear conditions and make solid credit decisions on loans
• Business development:
  • Work with the team to onboarding and train new clients to maintain and strengthen those relationships
• Processes/Procedures/Guidelines:
  • Review current processes and procedures and make recommendations on ways to improve efficiency and productiveness
• Compliance:
  • Assist and take lead as needed in response to audit monitoring and exams
  • Ensure department complies to company policy and regulations, especially as related to HMDA
• Training
  • Responsible for the development of new and existing team members

Education and/or Experience                   

• High School Diploma or GED required, an Associate Degree is preferred but not required
• Solid knowledge and experience in credit risk analysis and underwriting principles, methods, and practices especially as related to Specialty Lending or Manufactured Housing
• Previous credit underwriting or credit analysis experience preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
• Sales experience preferred or working knowledge of relationship building
