Serves as the face of the organization to internal customers through the Collins Management System organization to transfer products that align to the value stream product portfolio. The project lead will be the focal for work transfers, working with both the receiving sites and the transferring sites to ensure a successful product transfer. The project lead will manage this project adhering to the guidelines within the work transfer process, following all procedures. The project lead will work closely with the Interiors Operations Strategy team on policies and procedures to ensure a successful product work transfer. The project lead will partner with Global Trade on export control requirements. The project lead will ensure adherence to compliance of federal aviation regulations between EASA and the FAA. The project lead will ensure the work transfer aligns with all AS9100 QMS standards. Completing this work transfer will synergize product offerings, support producibility and profitability within the identified portfolios.  The project lead and the receiving site’s Integrated Project Team will continue to focus efforts on cost reduction and gross margin opportunities.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages projects that oversee overall operational performance and success as well as strategic planning in support of five year and long-range plans (SFP).  Manages projects directly related to supporting operational efficiencies, productivity, cost savings/avoidance, and cross functional collaboration driving towards a One Interiors culture. 
  • Responsible for other special projects as assigned by the value stream and the operations leaders.
  • Discipline description: Oversees and manages the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects, and liaises between
  • project management and planning and execution of projects collaborating with all cross functional teams (SC, Eng, Quality, Operations, EHS, VSL). Prepares business plans/cases using appropriate Collins Management System policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management. Focuses on process improvements through continuous improvement operating system.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets (if applicable), manages schedules and execution of schedules, prepares status reports, and follows escalation process as needed.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Regularly interacts and interfaces with all identified key stakeholders.
  • May manage projects upon completion of this work transfer.
  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex with deliverables on safety, cost, quality, and timeline.
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
  • Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Collaborates across functions in a Collins Management System organization through the Value Stream Leader and the Operations Leader
  • This position will report to the Executive Aircraft Seating Operations Leader
  • Supports the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets for projects under his/her responsibility to ensure adherence to the established program plan, schedule, and budget.
  • Tracks progress and identifies/resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules.
  • Forecasts project revenues and re-estimates project costs monthly to monitor costs and to maximize
  • project profitability.
  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance.
  • Maintains and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and
  • ensure that established targets are met.
  •  Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Special projects include materials management implementation, work/product transfers, insourcing commodities, cost reduction and gross margin improvement projects, identifying repeatable work content for best cost country sourcing. Support core non-core strategy and core competency
