Purpose

Develop and coordinate customized faculty-led, Industry Immersion and Project-Based Learning programs for the International Engineering Education office.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates faculty-led programs and other customized education abroad opportunities. Collaborates with faculty leaders and Advises students for these programs. Negotiates and processes contracts with vendors and UT Business Contracts. Develops and manages emergency response plans.

• Hires, trains, and supervises a team of Graduate Assistants and trains Teaching Assistants to assist faculty with managing student emergencies abroad.

• Works on industry immersion and service-learning program development. Oversees IEE participation in related FIGs.

• Works with Director on designing, collecting and analyzing faculty-led program proposals.

• Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to the work to be performed and at least five years of experience coordinating or administering an academic program.

• Experience presenting to student, faculty, staff, and external partners.

• Experience working with industry.

• Effective problem-solving skills and good decision quality; results-oriented; strong organizational abilities; the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively prioritize; a customer focus which includes students, faculty, staff and external partners; composure in stressful situations; and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Significant experience living, studying, or working abroad.

• Experience working with varied groups and with college students or similar populations.

• Responsible level experience developing or administering international programs.

• Experience developing or managing programs or projects and working well in a team environment.

• Professional demeanor.

• Experience working with budgets.

• Knowledge of student health, safety and security issues in study abroad programs.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience preferred.

• Experience working with customized, short-term study abroad programs.

• Work with faculty in higher education; demonstrated collaboration within and across work groups.

• Demonstrated creative and relevant marketing knowledge.

• Academic degree in international education or a relevant discipline.

Salary Range

$60,000+ depending on qualifications
