Description

The Department of Middle East Studies at the University of Michigan invites applications for a Lecturer I position in Biblical Hebrew/Aramaic starting January 6, 2025. Responsibilities include instruction at any assigned level and active involvement in teamwork and program affairs. The appointment level will be 100%.

Qualifications

Applicants should have demonstrated proficiency in Biblical Hebrew, Syriac, and English. We also welcome applicants with knowledge of other Aramaic dialects, including imperial Aramaic, Jewish Babylonian Aramaic, or Neo-Aramaic, as well as those with an understanding of synchronic and diachronic linguistics. Minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field is required. Language of instruction will be English.
