Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: Centerville, Iowa
What we’re looking for:
The EHS Specialist will partner with the sites operations team to help drive safety as a core value. The EHS Specialist will work under the direction of the EHS Manager.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Coordinate with supervisors and shop floor personnel to engage in daily safety discussions.
- Assist in the incident investigations
- To provide direct support to the plant EHS Leader and plant staff; investigate, recognize, report, and recommend corrective actions on safety and environmental compliance issues
- Ability to learn, read, understand, and communicate EHS regulatory requirements
- Assist in performing or assuring that all daily, weekly, monthly, or other periodic EHS inspections are completed
- Develop and/or present EHS training materials to plant employees as required by enforceable statutes or company policy
- Audit and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental programs of facilities
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement for safety and environmental compliance
- This role will be responsible for providing support during regulatory compliance inspections. EHS Specialists may also be expected to communicate inspection results to supervisor and site management.

What are the basic qualifications?
- Associate Degree with a relevant EHS Professional Certification or in lieu of education minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience
- At least 1-3 years of experience in an EHS role.
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous EHS experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
