The Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Computational Mathematics under the joint supervision of Dr. Joe Kileel and Dr. Gunnar Martinsson. Candidates should have a background in at least one of the following areas: tensor methods, randomized linear algebra, streaming algorithms, nonconvex optimization, scientific computing, or applied algebraic geometry. This research position offers an opportunity to work in a world-class interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with leading researchers in computational science, engineering, and mathematics.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow
Location: Oden Institute, University of Texas at Austin
Start Date: August 1, 2025
Duration: The position is funded for one year, with the possibility of continuation based on performance, research progress, and funding availability. The appointment can be renewed up to 4 times, with an expected duration of 2–3 years.

Salary Range: $70,000 / year

Qualifications
- Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences, expected before the start date or received within the past three years
- Outstanding research potential
- Good publication record
- A plus but not required – experience with scientific programming
