Compensation

Hourly base pay rate is $21.49 - $32.26/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Cox Enterprises is seeking a Growth & Diversification Marketing Intern to support strategic marketing initiatives across emerging business areas including Cleantech, Farms, Socium, and the Accelerator program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into competitive landscape analysis, digital presence evaluation, and investment trends in sustainability and innovation.

You’ll work closely with the marketing team to uncover insights, shape strategic plans for IFPA (Innovation for People and Planet Accelerator), and contribute to the planning of Demo Day, a key showcase event. Your capstone project will focus on analyzing the investment landscape in cleantech and sustainability, helping inform positioning, branding, and content strategies.

What You’ll Do:

As a Growth & Diversification Marketing Intern, you will:

  • Conduct competitive and landscape analysis across Cleantech, Farms, Socium, and Accelerator verticals.
  • Evaluate web and social media presence of key players and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Support the development of marketing strategies and content ideas for IFPA’s third-year campaign.
  • Assist in planning and ideation for Demo Day, using insights from category and trend analysis.
  • Research investment trends in cleantech and sustainability, including branding and positioning strategies.
  • Help identify key themes, messaging opportunities, and content gaps in the market.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate insights into actionable marketing recommendations.
  • Present findings and recommendations in a final capstone presentation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in sustainability, cleantech, or emerging technologies.

Preferred:

  • Experience with competitive analysis or market research.
  • Prior internship or project experience in marketing or environmental innovation.
  • Comfortable working independently and presenting ideas to a team.

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
