Your New Role...
The Manager is responsible for supervising production project configuration, acquisition, receipt, and supply chain delivery prep operations for Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) branded original programming for global distribution to the Max streaming platform, linear services, affiliates and other licensing partners. Responsibilities include liaising with external and internal productions, facilities and working groups across global regions to bring content into the Global Content Operations (GCO) workflow and deliver it to the WBD global supply chain. This role is critical to support continuing strategic initiatives to streamline workflows and adapt to evolving business needs while ensuring the timely receipt and distribution of materials that are in compliance with WBD’s technical specifications and qualitative standards.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Content Processing Operations
Supervise daily operations of two Coordinators including but not limited to receipt and distribution processes for preliminary and final materials for final QC, and to facilitate the creation of localization components for global launches and premieres.
Liaise with licensors, facilities and vendors prior to and throughout the delivery phase to anticipate and circumvent specification related issues and discrepancies, and to ensure timely receipt of materials; ensuring that information is conveyed in a manner so that all external partners, are clear on what is needed and expected.
Partner with internal QC and Technical Evaluation counterparts to optimize QC scheduling and turnaround times.
Utilize current and future (AI driven) toolsets (MXF Tools, Keystone, SDVI Rally, MediaInfo) to validate, edit, rewrap, re-name packages, and ensure the quality of video, audio, and text.
Oversee packaging of approved content bundles including masters and global audio and text components, creation of Media Manifest Core data files, and delivery into global media supply chain for global fulfillment and distribution
Develop metrics and projections for asset acquisition to determine requirements and allocation needs for storage and other resources related to distribution of assets.
Support and collaborate with technical staff on process and workflow troubleshooting to identify root causes, timely workarounds, and take corrective actions.
Collaborate with licensing teams for distribution end points outside of Max global platform releases.
Administrative and Tracking
Supervise Coordinators to ensure business applications and trackers are always current.
Innovation and Development
Maintain development of training documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational metrics to ensure process efficiency and consistency as processes evolve.
Maintain knowledge related to industry trends that affect and increase efficiencies in workflows and operations (E.g. practical application of AI and new technologies, 4K acquisition, HDR, Atmos and audio down mix workflows).
Qualifications & Experiences...
BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
3-5 years of experience in digital media management and operations
Understanding of media engineering and media delivery operations
Understanding of tables and databases
Accuracy, extreme attention to detail and strong organization skills
Knowledge of media industry standards and best practices (e.g. SMPTE), file-based media formats (e.g. MXF, AS-02, OP-1a, ProRes, H.264), and Movielabs Media Management Core a plus
The ability to understand business and report requirements and translate them into operational requirements are a plus.
