Sr Data Scientist – Attribute Science Digital and Pivotal Portfolio
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will collaborate with experts in Attribute Sciences and across Operations to develop reliable digital tools and analysis to resolve complex scientific questions and support the diverse data and analytics needs of the Attribute Science organization, primarily focusing on analytical method and product data generated by Amgen’s global networks.
- Utilize diverse data analytic techniques (such as statistical process control, multivariate statistical analysis) to analytical method and product data, identifying and assessing opportunities for enhancements.
- Utilize data analytics software, such as Databricks, Spotfire, or Python, to create visualizations that facilitate the review, assessment, and enhancement of analytical methods and product performance.
- Collaborate with analytical scientists, process development scientists, data scientists, and process engineers to evaluate, comprehend, and support Attribute Science’s data requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments within Operations, such as Product Quality, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing, to identify issues and implement enhancements.
- Support on-going cGMP activities such as regulatory report authoring, audits and inspections, investigations and assessments, and process documentation
- Stays abreast of new technologies and approaches to recommend and drive continuous improvement within the team and across Attribute Science

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED and 10 years of data analytics experience OR
- Associate’s degree and 8 years of data analytics experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of data analytics experience OR
- Master’s degree and 2 years of data analytics experience OR
- Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in life sciences, bioinformatics, engineering, applied mathematics, or a related discipline
- 4 or more years of relevant post-graduate work experience in an industrial environment
- Basic understanding of the regulatory and cGMP principles
- Advanced informatics or data science skills including computer programming. Familiarity with software tools (SQL/Spotfire/R/Python/JMP, etc.) to aggregate and analyze/visualize data.
- Basic understanding of analytical sciences (e.g. analytical method development, qualification)
- A track record of innovation as evidenced by patents and/or peer reviewed publications
- Knowledge of generative AI models, deep learning, and data analysis
- Ability to deliver high quality results in a timely manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal direction.
- Able to adapt to changing business needs and operational requirements.
- Be a self-starter with the ability to take on several projects at one time

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
