POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Provides practical nursing care to patients in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PNHS policy. Provides safe and effective nursing care by promoting a safe, therapeutic environment and by advocating for the best interests of individual patients. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification
Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
BLS provider status in accordance with American Health Association (AHA) guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
Basic computer/keyboarding skills required.
Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
Safely and effectively operates the following: Various Health Testing Equipment (i.e., vision, hearing, blood pressure, etc.), Personal Computer, Printer, FAX Machine, Photocopier, and Telephone.

One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
(50-60%) – Conducts focused assessment of the health status of an individual patient through the collection and comparison of data to normal findings and the individual patient's current health status. Reports changes and responses to interventions in an ongoing manner to a registered nurse or the appropriate licensed health care provider for delegated or assigned tasks or activities.
(40-50%) – Implements patient plan of care:
Identifies, implements, and evaluates appropriate nursing interventions within a patient’s plan of care as delegated by a Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) or RN.
