Looking for the next step in your manufacturing career?  Want to work where your contributions are valued & recognized?  If you said yes…..bring your manufacturing experience to Chromalloy and be our next great Production Supervisor.  In this role, you will supervise and coordinate day to day activities of production workers on a shift. You will be responsible for safety, quality, production, shipping & receiving and maintenance on an assigned shift. 

1st Shift Position in our Castings division available! 

Summary Directs, coordinates, and supervises the activities of all Casting Department personnel to ensure that sound practices are followed in accordance with engineering specifications and customer requirements to produce high quality investment castings that meet quality standards and production schedules.  Promotes good personnel relations and maintains a safe work environment for all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes good safety habits and enforces all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Makes recommendations to the Manufacturing Manager regarding the staffing needs of the department.
  • Interviews candidates for employment and is involved in the selection process for new employees or transfers to the department.
  • Trains or directs the training of employees on all matters related to job performance, quality, company policy and procedures, department rules and procedures, and safety and environmental issues.
  • Performs daily inspection and visually checks equipment to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is in proper working order.
  • Inspects completed work on a regular basis to ensure adherence to established procedures and that quality standards are met.
  • Assigns work to Casting Department personnel in accordance with production schedules.
  • Schedules overtime as required to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Supervises the performance of all Casting Department personnel to ensure high productivity and quality and that work is being performed in accordance with engineering practices and customer requirements.
  • Checks operator paperwork to be sure that it is correctly filled out.
  • Completes all required paperwork.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of department personnel and makes recommendations regarding wage adjustments or merit increases, and other personnel issues such as promotions, corrective or disciplinary action or termination of employment.
  • Works closely and consults with the Site Human Resources Business Partner and the Manufacturing Ops Manager on personnel matters requiring disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Keeps track of employee attendance and documents action taken on all personnel issues including meetings, training sessions, employee counseling, disciplinary action, etc.
  • Supports and cooperates with engineering and/or manufacturing efforts to test or implement new systems, procedures or methods, or to make changes to existing systems, procedures or methods as necessary to remain competitive as a result of changing business conditions, new product lines, new technology, or new customer requirements.
  • Directs department efforts for the continuous improvement of all department operations resulting in improved yields, lower scrap rates, improved product quality and reduced cost.

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                       

  • Typically supervises approximately 10–20 non-supervisory employees in the Casting Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
