Job Description

This position is responsible for providing technical consultation for Corporate and the regions, updates Technical information, Monitors industry products and systems, assists with new product identification and testing, provides field investigation and concise reporting for warranty claims. The candidate needs to have excellent supervisory, communication, organizational and writing skills, and knowledge of the roofing industry, and be willing to travel. The ideal candidate can live anywhere East of the Mississippi River.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical advisor for other SCTMR  personnel as needed.
• Respond to external requests for technical information
• Coordinate with Regional Technical Managers to resolve problems regarding product use or applications.
• Approval (or dis-approval) of all requests for non-standard use or application of company products (i.e. Special Warranty Requests). This item should also include the various Roof Maintenance agreements (RMA) that are produced primarily from NC and SC (currently just the VP and SVP has the authority to sign the agreements)
• Establish technical training standards for all STMR technical employees and applicators.
• Assist with development of technical literature, Technical Bulletins, details and specifications for final approval to meet established corporate guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least a 4 year degree in either Engineering, Building Construction or Architecture
• 5-10 years of work experience in the roofing industry
• Technical knowledge of single-ply roof membrane installation, ideally STMR products and systems
• Ability to travel
