PATH’s Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MNTD) program is a leader in the effort to end malaria illnesses and deaths, refines and develops tools and approaches, invests in national programs, and builds data to empower national governments to pursue malaria elimination.
The Program Manager supports an evolving portfolio of grant-funded projects related to malaria control and elimination and neglected tropical diseases as well as new business efforts. The Program Manager will supervise a Program Assistant and Program Associates supporting multiple projects within the MNTD portfolio. The Program Manager will report to the MNTD Deputy Director, and will work closely with Responsible Project Managers (RPMs) and Project Administrators (PADM) within MNTDs.
We are seeking an organized and collaborative team player who brings a detail-oriented approach to supporting the project lifecycle. Success in this position requires the ability to liaise closely with project leadership to support adherence to project schedule and resourcing, while also supporting the development of project deliverables in accordance with annual work plans and work back structures.
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Project Engagement
- Manages day-to-day support to one or more project teams, including communicating and assisting with global and country team requests
- Supports project management lifecycle of assigned projects by using and maintaining project management tools such as workplans, deliverables trackers, project start-up and close-out plans, etc
- Identifies issues or potential risks, including project performance, financial, and compliance, and supports plans and strategies to address those risks in partnership with the RPM and PADM
- Liaises with project subaward partners/and or subcontractor, manages subaward/and or subcontract performance issues, and reviews deliverables in coordination with project team to ensure they meet technical and quality standards
- Supports recruitment of long- and short-term project personnel in accordance with PATH policy
- Reviews and provides comments on project technical work and project reports
- May conduct country visits to monitor and support implementation, provide support to training, work planning, project management, and other relevant tasks
- Takes on, as assigned, pieces of project work and contributes or leads in their development, completion, and review
MNTD program management
Support portfolio management related to operations, including but not limited to employee engagement, staff onboarding & orientation, staff recognition, and external conferences and convenings, working in conjunction with Deputy Director and Director of Finance and Administration
Provides strategic support to the Deputy Director including drafting communication, planning trainings, meetings, and events, and supporting program initiatives
Supports and coordinates responses to periodic divisional and executive team requests
Provides surge support on project startup, and closeouts and as needed
Supports new business efforts as needed
