Assistant Director, Enrollment Management

The Assistant Director, Enrollment Operations and Systems is part of the Strategic Enrollment
Management (SEM) unit in the Owen Graduate School of Management (OGSM) at Vanderbilt University
and is a key individual contributor responsible for optimizing Slate CRM to support admissions,
recruiting, marketing and partners across the school. The position combines advanced technical
expertise, particularly in building and maintaining complex configurable joins queries, portals and
workflows—with the ability to train, support, and guide users in their daily transactions/workflows. As
part of the Enrollment Operations and Systems team, the Assistant Director plays a central role in
safeguarding data integrity, optimizing system performance, and ensuring that Slate remains a reliable,
strategic asset for the school. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of Enrollment
Operations and Systems.
The Owen Graduate School of Management (OGSM) is a professional school at Vanderbilt University,
located in Nashville, Tennessee, focused on graduate-level business education. OGSM’s mission is to

The Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Division is a dedicated unit within the Owen Graduate
School of Management (OGSM) focused on optimizing the recruitment, selection, aiding, onboarding,
and enrollment of students throughout their academic journey. The SEM Division employs data-driven strategies that align enrollment practices with OGSM’s reputational ambitions, revenue goals, and
academic mission.
- Serve as the primary support resource for Slate Portals, Workflows, and Query/Reporting,
ensuring staff can effectively execute evaluation and recruiting processes, as well as rely on data
for strategic planning. - Lead all aspects of Slate CRM data import and export process, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide timely, high-level training, troubleshooting, and guidance for admissions, recruiting, and
marketing staff to maximize Slate functionality. - Build, test, and maintain configurable joins queries to support critical processes, reporting, and external
integrations. - Ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with institutional policies and federal regulations.
- Stay engaged with the Slate user community to identify and implement best practices and system
innovations. - Maintain strong working relationships within OGSM, across UEA and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes and the flow of data related to admissions and enrollment activities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Enrollment Operations and Systems to develop Objectives and Key
Results (OKRs) related to enrollment operational efficiency across all programs, analyzing data to measure effectiveness and inform continuous improvement strategies - Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Relationships
This role entails direct supervisory responsibilities for part-time staff members. This role reports
directly to the Director of Enrollment Operations and Systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in enrollment management, admissions, or a
related higher education field. - 2+ years of direct Slate CRM administration and user support, with emphasis on Portals, Workflows, and Configurable Joins.
- Proven experience in training, documentation, or CRM technical support.
- Advanced expertise in Slate CRM, with deep experience in Portals, Workflows, and Configurable Joins.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining complex configurable joins queries.
- Knowledge of key Slate CRM tools: Upload Dataset, Rules, Populations, Deliver, and Events.
- Strong problem-solving ability to translate user needs into scalable system solutions.
- Excellent training, support, and communication skills to serve cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and maintaining the highest data standards.
