A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Senior Software Engineer you will apply technical expertise towards developing world-class solutions using software engineering tools to solve complex technical problems related to surgical navigation, robotics, and ablation products.  

 

As a more experienced engineer, you will prepare plans for your own work, participate in technical reviews, select the most promising concepts, implement advances in current state-of-the-art software technology, and identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvement.  

 

You will work closely with other software development teams and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment (Scrum). You will ensure tests pass relative to design specifications, prepare formal documentation, and educate stakeholders regarding solutions. You will provide solutions that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and work is performed under only general direction to determine technical objectives of assignments.

A Day in the Life 

 

In this role you will: 

 

• Design, develop, test, and document complex software components, and applications related to surgical navigation, robotics, and ablation products using C++. 

• Lead requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts. 

• Interface with mechanical, electrical, systems, and test engineers as well as quality assurance and regulatory compliance teams. 

• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and support existing products. 

• Represent the company at industry trade shows and customer sites. 

• Participate and often recommend on-going professional development activities. 

• Identify and implement process improvements often of a complex nature. 

• Effectively contribute to development teams. 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements 

 

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or similar Engineering Discipline and 

• 4+ years of experience in development or an advanced degree and 2+ years.

Nice to Have 

• Proven expertise in C++  

• Experience with other programming languages; for example, Python, Go, Java. 

• Designing, developing, testing, and documenting software infrastructure systems and system components. 

• Experience in large-scale software design including OOA/OOD and design patterns. 

• Assisting with project timeline estimation and planning efforts 

• Experience using Git-based source control systems 

• Strong knowledge of modern software design, development, debug, and test practices. <
