JOB SUMMARY:
As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in various areas of engineering in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers and participate in ongoing projects. This internship will allow you to actively engage in diverse projects and contribute to the overarching success of our engineering processes, engaging in the design and manufacturing process from concept to production.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and assistance in the design and development of automotive body and chassis systems.
- Assist troubleshooting and resolving engineering related issues
- Assist with prototype builds
- Assist by performing engineering trials and documenting the results
- Work alongside project managers to provide support and assistance in all areas of the manufacturing process of the products.
- Perform engineering calculations and participate in testing activities.
- Deliver a final presentation at the conclusion of the internship to a small audience, highlighting project accomplishments and contributions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Junior or senior status preferred.
- Familiarity with basic engineering principles
- Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Computer Work: Extended periods of sitting and computer use are required for daily work.
- Shop Floor: Occasional visits to the production floor involve standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
