Cleveland Clinic’s Sleep Disorders Center was among the first in the nation dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in people of all ages. Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Cleveland Clinic’s Sleep Disorders Center is staffed by caregiver specializing in sleep disorders from a variety of disciplines, including neurology, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, pulmonary medicine, psychiatry, psychology and otolaryngology.
A caregiver in this position works 8:30am—5:00pm or 7:30am—4:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
Collaborate with nursing leadership for department initiatives and outcomes, promote engagement, and assist with team building initiatives and onboarding of new medical assistants and ambulatory clinical technicians.
Assist with communication and implementation of best practices within the clinical area.
Provide feedback to the Nurse Manager/designee on medical assistants and ambulatory clinical technicians for new hire, mid- year and annual reviews.
Coordinate activities including holding huddles, department meetings and day to day staffing coverage for medical assistants and ambulatory clinical technicians.
Participate in clinical and departmental meetings and ensure information sharing with other team members.
Collaborate with nursing and physician leadership for issues involving clinical decision making.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited medical assisting program OR military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
