Humana’s Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) department is currently searching for an experienced Product Owner (PO) for the cybersecurity threat simulation team to help deliver solutions to improve operations in EIP​.

The PO will translate the automation opportunities identified by six sigma team members into implementable backlog items for the team to deliver. The PO will be responsible for articulating and organizing a hierarchy of team backlog items from Epics to User Stories, partnering with leadership for alignment on priorities and ensuring the backlog reflects those priorities. The PO will set the vision and quarterly roadmap, support the team in planning that work during Program Increment Planning, and reporting on progress against that delivery.

               

Responsibilities: 

  • Be consistently and actively present and in cadenced communication with product leadership, customer / stakeholders, and product/delivery team members.   

  • Facilitate refinement and planning sessions with the delivery team. 

  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders across the EIP Department to set expectations for and provide status updates on its delivery. 

  • Help the team to create and maintain a backlog with appropriate level of detail that delivers value incrementally.  

  • Evaluate work products delivered by the team based on the documented acceptance criteria on behalf of the end customers. 

  • Ensures the product backlog enables the delivery of objectives & key results. 

  • Works day-to-day with the cybersecurity threat simulation team to provide product subject matter expertise and clarify customer requirements. 

  • Support the team in pursuing excellence in engineering and quality.   

  • Help to define opportunities to solve problems.   

  • Communicate and monitor product area goals and performance indicators.   

  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.  

  • Follow established guidelines/procedures for backlog management. 

  • Make decisions regarding own work approach/priorities and follows direction when provided. 

  • Drives quality and innovation into the team's work product. 

  • The role is responsible for defining key metrics for relevant reporting on status

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant information technology field (Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, etc.)  

  • 5+ years of technical experience  

  • 3+ years of Product Owner and/or equivalent technical experience with teams delivering cybersecurity capabilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, influence, negotiate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders with often conflicting priorities and requirements 

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent 

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification 

  • Six Sigma certification 

  • Experience delivering solutions in both a traditional waterfall and agile environment 

  • Experience supporting a team in a scaled agile framework such as SAFe 

  • Significant experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or other work management tools  

  • Demonstrated experience in technical design and practical implementation of IT solutions 

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and facilitating discussions to explore the best possible solutions and possess the ability to lead
