Your role and responsibilities
The Marine Service Technician is responsible for efficiently managing and administration of all aspects of shipping, receiving, maintenance and inventory control of tools and equipment allocated to his area as required, assisting Field Service Engineers with specialized tooling and field service works as applicable.

This role is contributing to the Automation, Marine and Ports Division, in Miramar, FL.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Receiving packages, new and used tools and components from several modes of transport, ensuring that the correct documentation is provided and acknowledged and reporting any issues, such as damage, report to Tools Manager if problems are found.
Identify, quarantine and record items/packages that are received incorrectly, e.g., do not match the purchase order with incorrect quantity, identification number, etc.
Following standard packing procedures for packing of tools and equipment to ensure that they are protected against transportation damage, free from climatic and vermin/insect damage and that the package is correctly identified to ensure that the receiver has all the identification to receive the consignment effectively and efficiently.
This role will comprise Inventory and Asset Control, Tooling and Equipment Management, Field Support and Operations, Systems, Documentation & Continuous Improvement, as well as Safety, Quality & Compliance.

Qualifications for the role
Marine Industry service or equivalent experience in the diesel engine industry is strongly preferred.
High School diploma with 3 or more years of experience or Vocational Education in engineering or related field.
This role requires an efficient, organized, task-oriented person, capable of interacting and communicating with all levels of customer, factories, and internal departments, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and ability to build commitment within diverse and fragmented environments.
Decision making ability with ability to work independently and on own initiative without continuous supervision.
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
