Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

Assist patrons in accessing and using library resources and supporting the circulation of A/V equipment and related technology using our equipment checkout software.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Checking equipment and technology in/out through our equipment checkout software

  • Overseeing routine maintenance of equipment and technology

  • Cataloging new equipment

  • Maintaining knowledge of collections and circulation processes

  • Enforcing library rules and policies for patrons

  • Assisting patrons in determining what items that they need/want for their projects and assisting them with equipment usage

  • Resolving or reassigning incoming requests and queries via TDX ticketing system

  • Creating documentation on how to use the equipment

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

  • Must demonstrate good communication skills

  • Must have a friendly, service-oriented demeanor

  • Strong initiative and reliability

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Physical ability to stand for up to 3 hours; bend, lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must have a work award and be available to work at least 5 hours a week

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, and lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs. to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
