About the role

POSITION SUMMARY:

As Intercept continues to build its position as the leader in rare and serious liver disease, we are seeking a Director, US Marketing. The Director, US Marketing is responsible for the creation, implementation and measurement of the HCP and Patient media plan. This person will be accountable to meet key strategic imperatives of the brand and contributing to revenue performance in the U.S to meet and exceed goals.

The position requires a highly motivated individual who can work independently, think strategically, and collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish complex deliverables on tight timelines and to perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures and training.

The incumbent will work closely with multiple functional groups across the organization, including but not limited to Market Research and Business Insights teams, Field Sales, Field Medical, Medical Affairs, Sales Training, Regulatory and Legal.

The role is based in our Morristown, NJ Headquarters with flexibility for remote work 2-3 days per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and execution of HCP and Patient marketing strategies, positioning, messaging and tactics to drive performance of OCALIVA® through insights gained from primary and secondary data
  • Lead HCP and Patient non-personal promotion including digital media strategies to drive engagement and brand adoption
  • Lead patient education strategy, content and execution including patient ambassadors
  • Develop the annual marketing strategic and tactical plan for OCALIVA® and manage the variables that impact the successful execution of the plan. Applies innovative and competitive strategies to the development of marketing plans
  • Manage Intercept’s core agencies of record, including budget reconciliations, ongoing contracting, etc., and vendor partners

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 8+ years biopharmaceutical experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience with marketing drugs in U.S. is required
  • Pharma sales experience preferred
  • Experience marketing pharmaceutical brands to patients, Relationship Marketing/loyalty programs, acquisition/conversion/adherence programs
  • Digital, multichannel, and social marketing and media expertise required
  • Prior experience in rare disease, GI or specialty disease states preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Perform job responsibilities with a commitment to Compliance and a high ethical standard
  • Experience in delivering complex messages to various internal and external customers
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and effectively influence, collaborate, and communicate with internal and external partners
  • Experience working with external brand agencies and vendors on a day-to-day basis
  • Experience with process management including, but not limited to budget and LMRC review process
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • An outstanding track record of strong communication, presentation, analytic and strategic capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Learning agility and ‘scalability’ to take on increasing responsibility as Intercept grows
