A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. Learning Experience Designer will play a crucial role in developing engaging digital learning experiences to effectively provide self-service training for the people who use Tandem automated insulin delivery systems, their healthcare providers, and their caregivers. This role will collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and deliver innovative learning solutions for product onboarding that drive performance and enhance the overall learning experience. This role will be hybrid with one day a week in office, so the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to our San Diego headquarters in Del Mar. 

A Sr. Learning Experience Designer at Tandem also:

  • Designs and develops captivating and interactive learning materials, including e-learning modules, animations, videos, and simulations, with a focus on simplifying complex healthcare technology and diabetes management concepts to enhance user understanding and engagement.  
  • Applies instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies to create effective digital learning solutions inclusive for all learners. 
  • Utilizes multimedia tools and platforms such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and learning management systems (LMS) to create and build e-learning modules.  
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams, sets project timelines, tracks progress, and adjusts plans as needed to meet project objectives. Maintains clear and consistent communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly. 
  • Conducts needs analysis, learner analysis, and task analysis to identify learning gaps and recommend appropriate learning interventions. Learns from usability studies to provide recommendations for improved ease of use. Evaluates customer feedback to identify opportunities for a more meaningful and useful experience. 
  • Analyzes the efficacy of learning solutions using quant and qual data gathered from assessments, surveys, dashboards, and feedback channels. Continuously refines designs to enhance learning outcomes based on insights gathered. 
  • Stays current with consumer technology and healthcare industry trends and best practices in e-learning and training module development, and proactively incorporates innovative approaches into learning design and delivery. 
  • Partners with internal stakeholders and external vendors to produce the end-to-end learning experience design components, from concept to delivery.  
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Advanced knowledge in instructional design methodologies, learning theories, and adult learning principles including pedagogy and heutagogy.
  • Experience designing and developing e-learning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software. 
  • Strong project organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in designing engaging and interactive learning experiences. 
  • Knowledge of ADA and Section 508 compliance standards for e-learning accessibility is a plus. 
  • Advanced experience eLearning design tools such as (Articulate, Captivate, Canva) and various LMS platforms.
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Multi-media experience (including video production, direction, editing).
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstance
