JOB OVERVIEW The KidCare Director will lead and oversee the weekday staff Preschool and KidCare ministry, ensuring both provide children and teachers with experiences that are safe, organized, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with the mission and values of Preston Trail.  This role will also provide Sunday support to Special Needs ministry, helping create an environment where every child and family is seen, supported, and pointed to Jesus. 
 
The KidCare Director will lead with both operational excellence and pastoral care by developing teachers, maintaining licensing standards, partnering with parents, and supporting ministry environments that are engaging, well-prepared, and Christ-centered. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES: Weekday Preschool & KidCare Leadership 
  • Lead the vision, structure, and daily operations of the weekday staff preschool and KidCare ministries 
  • Serve as the Licensed Preschool Director and ensure full implementation of all state licensing standards and requirements 
  • Hire, onboard, train, develop, and shepherd preschool and KidCare teachers 
  • Maintain teacher and student files, licensing records, drills, and other required health and safety procedures 
  • Build and maintain a healthy, relational team culture among preschool and KidCare staff 
  • Provide support and coaching to teachers in classroom management, developmental care, and ministry-minded leadership 
  • Oversee teacher scheduling, staffing adjustments, substitutes, and communication 
  • Ensure classrooms, hallways, storage, and shared spaces are clean, organized, and prepared for weekly ministry 
  • Plan and execute preschool events, spirit days, and summer programming in collaboration with other ministry leadership 
  • Order and manage supplies related to curriculum, classroom needs, and activities 
  • Help create and lead training and professional development opportunities for teachers 
 Parent Communication and Partnership 
  • Build strong relationships with parents whose children attend the weekday staff preschool and KidCare events 
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents regarding preschool events, updates, enrollment changes, expectations, and policies 
  • Support enrollment processes and help prepare teachers and classrooms for new students 
  • Address parent questions or concerns with warmth, clarity, and professionalism 
 Curriculum and Content Support 
  • Ensure preschool and KidCare content and classroom experiences are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and Jesus-focused 
  • Collaborate with the appropriate TrailKids team members to utilize and adapt curriculum as needed for weekday environments 
  • Support teachers with curriculum preparation, resources, planning materials, and classroom implementation 
Sunday Support for Special Needs Ministry 
  • Support the Special Needs ministry team in creating a welcoming, safe, and developmentally appropriate Sunday environment for children with diverse needs 
  • Help support volunteer readiness, communication, and weekly Sunday preparation as needed 
  • Assist in fostering strong partnerships with families connected to Special Needs ministry 
  • Contribute to purposeful, well-prepared Sunday Huddles and ministry environments 
  Team Leadership and Collaboration 
  • Work collaboratively with the NextGen team and other ministry leaders to ensure alignment across preschool and Sunday ministry environments 
  • Partner with communications and ministry leaders to help provide resources that support families and reinforce discipleship at home 
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, flexibility, spiritual leadership, and high performance across the ministry
