The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Financial Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by being involved in some of the following activities:
- Month End Consolidation process of 3M legal entities. Loading of journals, loading data, running jobs, SOX controls, ensuring accuracy and completeness of results throughout the processes, etc.
- License Fee Process in the US
- Equity Reconciliations & Quarterly Reporting
- Profit in Inventory activities
- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
- Research Intercompany dividend discrepancies and coordinate with tax and local country finance to reconcile out of balance discrepancies
- New entity setup and dissolution
- Ad hoc inquiries related to month end results
- Ad hoc project responsibilities as needed
- Additional consolidation activities
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Process Improvement
- Automation and streamlining financial reporting
- Financial data analysis and reporting solutioning
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of accounting and/or Finance in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- MBA from an accredited university in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Business knowledge and acumen
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize projects and drive change
- Solid analytical skills
- Strong data mining and analytical skills
- Experience with 3M Accounting and Business systems and reporting tools including BPC / EPM, Peoplesoft, SAP, SnowFlake, PowerBI, etc
Work location:
Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN least 3 days per week)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
