About the role

Job Title: Associate Project Engineer – Manufacturing/Production (Local Remote)

Overview: A leading poultry and meat processor is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to join its team. This role focuses on providing CAD support, developing technical drawings, and supporting the execution of capital projects in a manufacturing/production environment. The position offers a local remote opportunity, with preferred locations in GA, SC, NC, VA, MD, DE, or other Eastern Time Zone areas. Up to 80% domestic travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAD Support:
  • Create and maintain detailed technical drawings for equipment, materials, workflows, and processes across multiple production facilities.
  • Analyze schematics and blueprints, ensuring compliance with company standards and quality regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams during project meetings to review designs, assist with equipment/material selection, and align on project goals.
  • Develop and manage a robust technical documentation system.
  • Technical Engineering:
  • Support project managers and senior engineers in the development and execution of capital projects, including facility, equipment, and production system maintenance.
  • Address operational challenges such as energy utilization, environmental considerations, and Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Participate in capital planning, project deployment, and management initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture (additional experience in food manufacturing can substitute for a degree).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing, with food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in engineering design principles.
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills with attention to detail and the ability to conceptualize designs.
  • Skills:
  • Familiarity with P&ID and GA layouts.
  • Strong learning agility and flexibility.
  • Ability to travel extensively and adapt to a demanding schedule.
  • Time Zone Compatibility: Must work Eastern Time Zone hours when remote.
