About the role

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Essential functional duties of the position:   

1) Continual walking, standing, reaching, and upper extremity use, 2)Frequent bending, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders), squatting and kneeling, 3) Occasional pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with assistance, 4)Work schedule is 8 hours, days, evenings or nights, weekends and holidays, 5) Ability to work outside in inclement weather and inside in extreme temperature variations, 6) Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as outlined further in this section 7) Ability to install equipment as required for capital projects 8) Perform preventative maintenance checks as assigned 9)Perform any necessary documentation as required 10) Train subordinates/peers within the work environment, 11) Respond as appropriate to a plant upset and/or emergency situation, 12) Medically fit to wear a respirator, 13) Ability to drive and operate a fork truck, 14) and other various duties as assigned.

  • ELECTRICAL:  Troubleshoot three phase motors using an amp probe, volt meter or megar.  Troubleshoot/repair manual or magnetic starters with momentary contact switch.  Troubleshoot/replace limit switch and solenoid.  Change rotation of equipment if needed.  Check and replace breakers if determined to be faulty.    Replace motors correctly according to nomenclature classification and discern which motor is appropriate for the area (i.e. explosion proof versus non-explosion proof).
  •  PIPE FITTING:  Do all phases of pipe fitting; including reading blue prints, cutting pipe, threading pipe, running pipe in a complicated configuration off of a print.
  •  WELDING:  Be able to demonstrate proficiency in several phases of welding, (e.g., shielded arc welding, tig welding, the ability to use a plasma cutter, and knowledge of Oxy-Acetylene cutting and welding.
  • PUMPS:.  Fix and replace key elements of positive displacement or centrifugal pumps using any special tools.
  • BOILERS/COMPRESSORS:  Have a high level of understanding of how a boiler works and a degree of understanding of compressors.  Troubleshoot/repair/restart boilers.
  • MACHINES:  Be able to demonstrate the ability to safely use several key pieces of equipment in a shop, (e.g., drill press, hydraulic press, power hacksaw, power cold saw, iron worker).
  • HAND TOOLS:  Have a high level of knowledge of all hand tools required of a journeyman mechanic and to possess these tools as required.
  • HVAC: Have a working understanding of a HVAC system.  May require a fundamental demonstration of troubleshooting abilities in the areas of differential pressures and how this effects efficiencies of a system.
  • SAFETY:  Conduct all job assignments safely using the proper PPE, tools and techniques. Report any hazardous situations to Supervision. 
  • RIGGING: Use safe rigging techniques of different pieces of equipment.
  • FABRICATION: Be able to take a basic print of a system and make modification or fabricate new parts to a system.

            B.   Other responsibilities/accountabilities (marginal functions): 

  • Emergency response techniques.
  • Practice GMP’s, and safe orderly work habits.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Understand call-in procedure for extra help.
  • Participate in training of other personnel and departments.
  • Plant security aspects.
  • Work with site engineers on internal projects.
  • Be willing to acquire knowledge through research and hands-on training.
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in a manner consistent with all applicable safety and environmental laws and regulations, company policies and procedures, and the Euticals Inc. commitment to continuously improve safety and environmental performance.
  • Document all tasks completed.
  • Upon completion of a task, leave area clean and in working order.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position may require the management of hazardous waste, which may include, but is not limited to, making waste determinations, profiling waste with TSDF, labeling hazardous waste containers, container management (e.g. inspections), and release clean up/emergency response.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The following knowledge and proficiency skills are required for this position to be acquired through a minimum of a High school diploma/GED. 

Possess 5-7 years of industrial/manufacturing verifiable maintenance experience. 

Additional education and training to support experience is a plus to include any certificates of safety training.
