Location: Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 2015 Staples Mill Rd Richmond, VA 23230.

This role requires associates to be in-office 3-4 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Engineer Senior is responsible for maintaining active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leading requirements gathering meetings.

How You Will Make an Impact: 

• Deliver end to end application, system development and maintenance on complex multi technology platforms within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.
• Own the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
• Provide technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams.
• Research and may propose new technologies.
• Develop and own list of final enhancements.
• Develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.
• Perform technical design reviews and code reviews.
• May own technical testing to ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.
• Assess current status and support data information planning.
• Coordinate on-call support and ensure effective monitoring of system.
• Maintain technical development environment.
• Mentor others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.
• Will begin to set direction at the project/ service level and influences decision-making.
• Provide technical guidance, and mentoring.
• Understand the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs of the technical solutions.
• Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicates standards and gets buy-in on solutions.
• Facilitate group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
• Support vendor evaluation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study.
• Five (5) years in any occupation with Information Technology (IT) experience, or related.

Experience Requirements:

• Five (5) years in any occupation with Information Technology (IT) experience, or related must include:
  • Five (5) years of experience with Star and Snowflake DB Schema, SQL and NoSQL Databases, Cloud Platform and services experience;
  • Five (5) years of experience in Object Oriented and Functional Programming, including Python, Unix, Linux and Perl scripting;
  • Five (5) years of SQL knowledge and experience working with Relational and non-Relational databases;
  • Three (3) years of experience with designing complex Data Models and Data Engineering Solutions for Data Warehouses from various heterogeneous Data Sources;
  • Three (3) years of experience debugging performance issues in large-scale production environments;
  • Three (3) years of experience with micro-services, scalability, and Data pipelines;
  • Three (3) years of experience in Marketing Campaign and Process Automation;
  • Three (3) years of experience with GIT and Jira.

Alternate Education:

• Employer will accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study, and three (3) years in any occupation with Information Technology (IT) experience, or related.
• Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the skills listed above.
