RTX BBN has a great opportunity for a Global Trade Manager to join our BBN Global Trade team working with our Global Trade Senior Manager and Empowered Official. Global Trade plays a critical role in the successful execution of BBN’s contracts and our data and facility controls, ensuring BBN is compliant with U.S. Government global trade laws and regulations. This role will be responsible for contributing to key global trade compliance infrastructure elements including people, processes/procedures and training as well as collaborating closely with functional groups across the organization and championing compliant business practices in the intricate landscape of export and import regulations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, developing relationships with internal and external customers.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assess pursuits and proposals for export control applicability based on specific work and technologies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations and internal policies
  • Provide consistent interpretation under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to BBN employees
  • Support the business with developing export/import licensing strategies to enable business growth
  • Prepare, submit and manage various ITAR and EAR export/import authorizations
  • Authorizations include Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs), DSP-5s, DSP-73s, DSP-85s, exemptions and exceptions
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through review and approval of foreign travel, foreign visits and export/import transactions and restricted party screening
  • Manage the process for onboarding and technology control plans for non-U.S. person employees and visitors to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Provide interpretation of fundamental research as defined in the ITAR and EAR to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver training for employees
  • Assist in addressing compliance concerns by identifying errors and areas requiring improvement and implementing corrective actions to resolve problems
  • Contribute to learning and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Support management in investigating and resolving compliance matters, audits and investigations
  • Support and develop global trade, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Covered Defense Information (CDI) and other required processes and procedures surrounding the storage, use and transfer of digital information within and external to BBN
  • Maintain applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Support and participate in corporate global trade steering committees and special projects
  • Apply CORE operating system tools and procedures to monitor and continuously improve BBN Global Trade operations
  • Travel minimally, up to 5%

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience with and understanding of U.S. Munitions List and Commerce Control List classification determination processes and export/import regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with DECCS, SNAP-R, OCR EASE and/or other automated licensing and compliance systems and/or resources.
  • Experience preparing, submitting and managing Department of State and Department of Commerce license and agreement applications and other authorization requests

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience operating with non-U.S. trade regulations
  • Experience with controls surrounding CUI/CDI
  • Self-starter and problem solver with demonstrated ability to develop effective networks with internal customers and ability to collaborate with multiple business functions for success
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and dedication to customer service
  • Strong time management, prioritization, analytica
