Production Maintenance Technician

Role Summary: 

The Production Maintenance Technician ensures the production operation is supported through achieving optimal equipment performance.  This role ensures the equipment is maintained, changed over, corrected or upgraded as needed.  Proper knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general process controls is required. 

Pay Range: $22 per hour

Shift Schedule:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:40 PM
• Ability to flex earlier or later as directed, to support both shifts
• Must be able to work overtime throughout the week and Saturdays as requested

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Ensure equipment is properly working to provide a safe environment

• Validate Safety controls are in place for staff and equipment
• Monitor equipment to eliminate potential safety hazards
• Properly utilize lock out/tag out procedures when working on equipment
• Lead through example and training for all associates through safe work practices

Execute preventative maintenance and spare parts program

• Adhere to schedule for preventative maintenance
• Update preventative maintenance system according to define procedure
• Keep system current with changes to requirements
• Perform periodic inventories of spare parts and tool area
• Order parts and update inventory as required of spare parts and tool area

Support operations in daily production targets

• Respond and repair equipment based on communicated priorities
• Assist production as required when equipment is underperforming
• Ensure line change overs are performed accurately and within required allotted time

Strengths to be successful:

• Technical or other mechanical certifications a plus
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and control systems required
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Able to communicate and explain a problem or solution
• Exceptional work ethic
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Familiar with continuous improvement concepts and methodology

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Weight-Handling Requirements  

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing between 30-50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift. 

• Overhead Lifting: Occasionally lifting items above shoulder level. 

• Pulling and Pushing: Moving heavy objects using tools like pallet jacks, dollies, or carts. 

General Physical Abilities  

• Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking, often on concrete floors. Shifts may last 8-12 hours. 

• Bending and Stooping: Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, or twisting to pick up or organize items. 

• Reaching and Stretching: Ability to reach above or below waist level to retrieve or store goods. 

• Climbing: Occasionally climbing ladders or stairs to access products stored at higher levels. 

Endurance and Stamina  

• Performing physically demanding tasks in varying conditions (e.g., cold storage, hot warehouse spaces). 

• Repeating motions like lifting, bending, or carrying without fatigue for an entire shift. 

Coordination and Dexterity  

• Good hand-eye coordination for picking, packing, or sorting items. 

• Manual dexterity for operating tools or machinery (e.g., forklifts, scanners). 

Additional Requirements   

• Vision: Ability to see clearly for reading labels, identifying items, and operating machinery safely. 

• Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, instructions, or warning signals in a noisy environment. 

• Physical Health: Must meet any health standards (e.g., no restrictions that would prevent lifting or moving objects).
