PromptCare is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Home Infusion and Specialty Pharmacy department. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting the pharmacist in providing the highest quality of care for patients in need of specialty medications. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day duties, including medication management, communication with healthcare professionals, and patient education. You will also be responsible for verifying orders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring accuracy of medication preparation. Reports to: Departmental Lead, Supervisor or Manager

Job Type: Part/Time, 20 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8:30am - 12:30pm 

Job Location: Cedar Rapids, IA


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active pharmacy technician registration and certification with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy or willingness to obtain within one year of start of employment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software and technology
  • Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office required
  • Knowledge of IV medications and USP 797 preferred
  • Good manual dexterity; proficiency with aseptic technique; knowledge of pharmacy admixture
    techniques
  • Experience working as a pharmacy technician in home infusion or specialty pharmacy preferred


Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:

  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Process prescriptions and ensure they are filled accurately
  • Prepare medications for dispensing
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and guidelines

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary and occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing 20-35 pounds.
